Tuesday, November 24, 2009 4:24 AM
The Holy Rosary was held on November 17, 2009 leaded by chosen SSG officers. Due to lack of given time the prayer was shorter than the usual. It was followed by the United Nations (UN) celebration.Spearheaded by the school’s Supreme Student Government. Unfortunately the UN celebration was postponed because of typhoon Tino. Due to this, the SSG was left with no choice but to just insert the celebration every flag ceremony.
A game of question and answer was conducted every flag ceremony with hosts Elainne Encila and Jerald San Pablo. The game was played on Friday (November 17) followed by the next available day, Tuesday (November 17). After the short game 2- Trisectrix performed a dance number showing the culture of China. On Wednesday, two sections also performed 2- Penrose and 4- Ravenclaw, presenting Japan and Germany’s culture. The winners of the game were also announced they were 2- Trapezium and 1-Ouranus. ▶ “When I Change, the World Changes!”
Tuesday, October 13, 2009 6:48 AM
On the 1oth of October 2009 a Teambuilding and Leadership Seminar with the theme “When I Change, the World Changes” was conducted at the school campus. The seminar was facilitated by students of Ateneo de Naga University, Psychology Department having Ms. Flora Raña as their group leader.
The program started at 8:30am – 5:00pm. Only twelve SSG officers participated and two non- SSG sophomores which were Roland Rodriguez and Dante Baldoza. Topics discussed were self- awareness, leadership, communication (importance), time management and conflict management. It was all not discussion; of course games were also conducted before each issue to be discussed relating to the next topic.
After finishing discussing Conflict Management the facilitators gave the participants a quick activity having to answer different psychological questions regarding what the characters of the participants are towards facing conflicts. Afterwards the facilitators again gave a paper on which the participants can write their comments or suggestions on their performance. In the end all the participants were given certificates for getting involved and cooperating with them.
As a participant, I can say that all the people involved gained new knowledge and enjoyed the workshop in fact we all hope that this would not be the last.
Anita V. Ombao.
